This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, process, retain, and disclose personal data about you when providing services to you through our website, marketing emails, SMS alerts, and services that link to this policy (the "Services") and our practices for using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information. Through the Services
In communications, including marketing emails (sent via Resend), our SMS alerts (Twilio planned), and our optional user-research activities (e.g., surveys/interviews).
When you interact with our advertising on third-party websites and services, including through our use of analytics and advertising technologies (Google Analytics, Google Ads/Google tag, Meta Pixel) and a consent preference tool (Cookiebot by Usercentrics).

We may provide additional or different privacy policies that are specific to certain features, services, or activities.

Children's and Minors' Data

Our Services are not intended for, and we do not knowingly collect any personal data from, children under the age of 18. If we learn we have collected or received personal data from a child under 18 years old without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information.

User research. If you volunteer for research, we collect the responses you choose to provide (e.g., travel habits, preferences, opinions). These research responses are not stored in our production databases; they are stored in Typeform and/or Google Drive.
Messages and preferences. Content and information you elect to provide as part of your profile or in any reviews you make through the Services or emails, chats, or other communications sent to us.

2) We collect the following information automatically:

Usage & device data. IP address, device identifiers, operating system and version, device and browser type, pages viewed, time on page, referrers, approximate location derived from IP, and similar diagnostics.
Advertising & measurement data. Event data from Meta Pixel and Google Ads (e.g., page views, clicks) used for measurement and to reach people likely to be interested in nrgetaway.
Email analytics. Our marketing emails (via Resend) may contain a tracking pixel that reports opens/clicks so we can understand engagement.

3) Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies, pixels, tags, and email beacons to operate the website, remember preferences, measure performance, and—where permitted by U.S. law—support advertising and audience measurement. You can control cookies in your browser and opt out of sale/sharing as described below.

Some of the information identified above may be considered sensitive data under certain laws. If required under applicable law, we will collect and process sensitive personal data only with your consent. If you choose not to provide or allow us to collect some information, we may not be able to provide you with requested features, services, or information.

From Business Partners and Service Providers

For example, we may obtain information about you from service providers that we engage to perform services on our behalf, such as email platform providers, content delivery services, promotions services, gift card program providers, analytics, security and anti-fraud services, and data brokers. We also may receive personal data from business partners that we engage to share consumer information with us, including your personal preferences and demographic information such as age, gender, and income level so that we can better provide you with a personalized experience, including personalized content, offers and services.

The usage information we collect, whether connected to your personal data or not, helps us improve our Services and deliver a better and more personalized experience by enabling us to:

Cookies/Tracking & Do Not Sell/Share. Use the controls in our cookie preferences (Cookiebot) and the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link (available in our site footer). We also honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals in supported browsers.

U.S. State Privacy Rights

Notice of Financial Incentives (California). At times, we may offer gift cards or similar incentives (e.g., for research participation). Participation is voluntary. The personal information typically involved includes contact details and research responses. We estimate the value of your data based on the incentive's value and expected engagement. Full terms will accompany each program; opting out (or deletion) will not affect the value of any incentive already provided.

Retention

We retain your information according to the following procedures:

Email and phone (marketing contact information): retained until you unsubscribe or opt out.
Research responses: retained 36 months in Typeform and/or Google Drive, then deleted or de-identified.
Analytics/ads data: retained per our platform settings and the providers' policies.

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, then delete or de-identify it.

Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, physical, and technical measures designed to protect your personal data from accidental loss or destruction and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. However, no website, mobile application, system, electronic storage, or online service is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of your personal data transmitted to, through, using, or in connection with the Services. In particular, email, texts, and chats sent to or from the Services may not be secure, and you should carefully decide what information you send to us via such communications channels. Any transmission of personal data is at your own risk.

The safety and security of your information also depend on you. You are responsible for taking steps to protect your personal data against unauthorized use, disclosure, and access.
